Batman[a] is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, and debuted in the 27th issue of the comic book Detective Comics on March 30, 1939. In the DC Universe continuity, Batman is the alias of Bruce Wayne, a wealthy American playboy, philanthropist, and industrialist who resides in Gotham City. Batman’s origin story features him swearing vengeance against criminals after witnessing the murder of his parents Thomas and Martha as a child, a vendetta tempered with the ideal of justice. He trains himself physically and intellectually, crafts a bat-inspired persona, and monitors the Gotham streets at night. Kane, Finger, and other creators accompanied Batman with supporting characters, including his sidekicks Robin and Batgirl; allies Alfred Pennyworth, James Gordon, and Catwoman; and foes such as the Penguin, the Riddler, Two-Face, and his archenemy, the Joker.
Kane conceived Batman in early 1939 to capitalize on the popularity of DC’s Superman; although Kane frequently claimed sole creation credit, Finger substantially developed the concept from a generic superhero into something more bat-like. The character received his own spin-off publication, Batman, in 1940. Batman was originally introduced as a ruthless vigilante who frequently killed or maimed criminals, but evolved into a character with a stringent moral code and strong sense of justice. Unlike most superheroes, Batman does not possess any superpowers, instead relying on his intellect, fighting skills, and wealth. The 1960s Batman television series used a camp aesthetic, which continued to be associated with the character for years after the show ended. Various creators worked to return the character to his darker roots in the 1970s and 1980s, culminating with the 1986 miniseries The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller.
DC has featured Batman in many comic books, including comics published under its imprints such as Vertigo and Black Label. The longest-running Batman comic, Detective Comics, is the longest-running comic book in the United States. Batman is frequently depicted alongside other DC superheroes, such as Superman and Wonder Woman, as a member of organizations such as the Justice League and the Outsiders. In addition to Bruce Wayne, other characters have taken on the Batman persona on different occasions, such as Jean-Paul Valley / Azrael in the 1993–1994 “Knightfall” story arc; Dick Grayson, the first Robin, from 2009 to 2011; and Jace Fox, son of Wayne’s ally Lucius, as of 2021.[4] DC has also published comics featuring alternate versions of Batman, including the incarnation seen in The Dark Knight Returns and its successors, the incarnation from the Flashpoint (2011) event, and numerous interpretations from Elseworlds stories.
One of the most iconic characters in popular culture, Batman has been listed among the greatest comic book superheroes and fictional characters ever created. He is one of the most commercially successful superheroes, and his likeness has been licensed and featured in various media and merchandise sold around the world; this includes toy lines such as Lego Batman and video games like the Batman: Arkham series. Batman has been adapted in live-action and animated incarnations, including the 1960s Batman television series played by Adam West and in film by Michael Keaton in Batman (1989), Batman Returns (1992), and The Flash (2023), Val Kilmer in Batman Forever (1995), George Clooney in Batman and Robin (1997), Christian Bale in The Dark Knight trilogy (2005–2012), Ben Affleck in the DC Extended Universe (2016–present), and Robert Pattinson in The Batman (2022). Kevin Conroy, Diedrich Bader, Jensen Ackles, Troy Baker, and Will Arnett, among others, have provided the character’s voice.
all batman suits Whether you are a seasoned cosplayer or just starting out, our Batman costume is the perfect addition to your collection.
The best Batman suit is The Dark Knight/The Dark Knight Rises. Batman suit should be all black
The best suit goes to the best (live action) Batman.
4:26 the bat suit would look good if it had an emblem
The Batsuit in the Flash (Batfleck) is the worst I have ever seen.
Personally, Batman Returns is the top of the pile. It’s got a decent sense of being a little practical looking, but it’s just so imposing and larger than life. It fit how he fought in those movies really well too as the more limited movement he had informed the character. It was campy, theatrical like you said, and most of all it was just badass.
Yooo that pup is gettin sturdy at the beginning
The best Batman suits ranking one to three. I would say number one the dark night Batman suit number two the Batman Robert Pattinson Batman suit and number three. The Batman begins Batman suit
I hate the fat bat logo like in batfleck's suit. Classic bat logo in yellow oval is my favorite.
Keatons always been my favorite Batman. I loved the 89 suit but his modern suit is absolutely on top for me personally
The Ben Affleck Suits are By Far the BEST (IMO)
It's literally how BatMan SHOULD look after Years of Battling Tough Street Thugs and Super Powered Villians – The suits are Simple – No weird bullshit – and the Grey & Black Hulking Look is absolutely Perfect … and Plus He can actually Turn His Head in this suit!
Just make some modifications to your #2 rank suit to fit the new main Batman actor especially in brave and the bold and that’s it leave it alone, it be the perfect competitor to holland’s new suit, both close to comic accurate suits on screen
Fun fact: the robert Paterson Bat cowl is a homage to the Adam west cowl
Scary voice said to click like, so I did.
I think the Pattinson suit is a step backwards honestly, those huge forearm gauntlets with arrows that he never uses are just bad looking. Hopefully we get something more like Afflecks Mark 1 suit in the future but with Blue
Bruh what? I don't have annissue with your placement of the Dark Knight suit but the reasoning is absolutely stupid. Pointy ears, bat sign, and cape are literally the only thing you need for a Batman suit. To say it doesn't feel like a Batman suit even though it has all the hallmarks is insane to me.
My is Ben Affleck’s Flash movie’s suit.
Really good video, really unpredictable.
Affleck's new one isn't actually that bad in the film. The cowl isn't cut squarely like that and actually goes down his shoulders into the Cape. It's still far from the best suit but I am thankful it looks better in the film
The '89 suit is my favorite batsuit follow by the BVS suit & Begins suit
The blue Michael Keaton suit is peak Batsuit
The Arrowverse suit is better than the Kilmer panther suit? This is where I sign off
– Tier 1 Batsuits: Keaton's Flash Batsuit and Batfleck's BvS / JL Batsuits.
In all honesty Bat-Keaton's Batsuit in The Flash is one of my favorite Batsuits ever. It mixes the best out of the Batman Returns and Batman Forever Batsuits, with the industrial all-black look but with the Keaton aesthetic.
– Tier 2 Batsuits: Batman Returns Batsuit (huge improvement over 1989's suit) and Bale's Begins batsuit (great effort to keep Batman's sillouette).
– Tier 3 Batsuit: Batman 1989. It would be Tier 2 if the chest symbol wasn't botched for whatever reason. The extra bat legs are terrible. The rubber cowl is bad quality. Extra points however for being a trend-setting costume with the rubber cowl, the armor plating, the all-black look and the black eyepaint!
– Tier 4: Battinson's batsuit: extra points for keeping the black and grey color scheme in an Arkham Origins / Noel type of Batsuit, but it starts getting too busy for my taste. Those silver darts on his gauntlets catch too much attention and were never used onscreen (they are supposedly the dart fired by the grapnel gun but we don't know that from the movie). I'm also not too fond of the mask, it exposes too much of his jaw. And it gives him a very thin neck.
– Tier 5 Batsuit: JL Tactical Batsuit, The Dark Knight / Rises Batsuit: these are too busy, too plated, too extra-padded and they lose Batman's simple design.
Everything else is just not worth rating:
– BvS's armor inspired by TDKR is good but it's not really a Batsuit. More like a Heavy-Duty Battle Armor.
– Batfleck's Flash Batsuit is terrible. Completely covered in motorcycle gear.
– Forever Batsuit is too glossy and nipples. Good black / yellow contrast though.
– Adam West is nearly the worst Batsuit ever. Its only saving grace is that it tried to retain the comic book color palette.
– Knightmare Batsuit from BvS is too edgy, machine gun included. I can't take it seriously.
– Forever's second Batsuit is too busy and terrible all the same. Not worth it.
– Black and white serials' Batsuits are just too poor.
– Clooney's Batsuits – the same as Forever's second Batsuit but worse.
– I refuse to comment on Gotham's and Titans' Batsuits. They are the actual worst Batsuits ever.
It’s gotta be the Batman Returns suit for me.
Batfleck’s tactical suit would be a top tier batsuit if it had retractable glowing lenses instead of goggles, and taller ears.
I hate the new Batfleck suit. His design peaked in his first appearance.
# 7 looks like a version of the Thomas Wayne batsuit from Flashpoint Paradox. Admittedly I’m still hoping & waiting for live Batman Beyond. My fav to date is The Batman 2022 batsuit. 2nd is the gray & black batsuit v1 in Batman v Superman. 3rd would be gray & black batsuit v2 in Zack Snyder Justice League.
I also love the blue and gray
My Favorite is Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/ Batman suit
Batman 1989 and Batman return 1992 with yellow Belts
Music by Danny Elfman theme song Batman
Your Ranking is Questionable but Hey!! to each is own
Matt reeves Batman is one of worst Batsuit ever.
Most ridiculous design in modern batman.
89 is number 1 for me
Honestly I wish for Affleck’s final scene in The Flash they would have gone as classic as possible. Simple, trimmed down, full gray and blue coloring.
40:48 I’ll be honest… the suit really just looks like someone’s unusually buff but slightly overweight dad wrapped himself in duct tape and painted a bat on his chest
Not a HUGE fan of it, and I prefer the tactical version
My favorite is either BVS suit or Batman Begins suit
Maybe the guns just shot rubber rounds?
I was going to say before you got to the panther suit, that the nipple suits remind me of old greek armor designs. Which makes me not mind them at much. I don’t think it works for batman, but I can appreciate the inspiration from history.
My favorite is Michael Keaton bat suit
he forgot the gotham knights batsuit
The nightmare looking suit is actually an artic climbing suit. Makes you think Keaton fought Mr. Freeze maybe? My favorites are the burton suit. 89 being the top for me. I love most of these Flash suits and think the new one is great. Seeing the flash tomorrow for Keaton!
There was a blue suit in B&R? Those Schumaker films use so much colored lighting you can't tell what color the suit really is. None of these colored suits come off on film as having any color. Batman is always shown at night, so any color I just attribute to lighting
The Nolan suit's main problem is the cowl looks like it was sculpted around a volleyball
I'd love to know what you think about the Flash's bicycle helmet
Why did the editors insert random video gameplay that has nothing to do with the topic being discussed? Really fucking annoying. You get a dislike for your shitty editing.
Clooney's Blue Suit has the best sculpted Bat Symbol. The Panther Suit has the best Cowl. Otherwise, the original Keaton Suit is my favorite because of its matte finish. Pattinson wins for Utility Belt because it actually has pouches.
the batman suit is so nasty i hate it
Love the Nightmare suit. It's like the first on-screen Elseworlds Batman we've ever got.
Keaton doesn’t have a no gun rule 💀 34:59
